David V. Bennett, Jr.

David V. Bennett, Jr., 57, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Providence Baptist Church, 51 Providence Rd, Orangeburg.  Dr. Kimmett Lott will be officiating.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Providence Baptist Church prior to the funeral service.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Steve Benton, Joseph Welch, Tyler Tindall, Corey Smith, Chad Odom, Will Sikes, Trip Sikes, Trent Crider, Andrew Frye, and Landon Sawyer.

David was born in Biloxi, Mississippi on June 15, 1967.  He was the son of the late David and Juliet Bennett and the late Molly Barron Wilson.  He was employed with Eastman for over 30 years as a chemical operator supervisor.  He was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Orangeburg.  David was an outdoorsman.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Eva Easterling and his beloved fur baby, “Shot Gun.”

Survivors include his loving wife of over 27 years, Penny Y. Bennett; children, Justin Yancey, Gabriel Bennett, Rebel “Nikki” Bennett, Gillian Bennett, Christian Bennett; sister, Janie Bennett (Joanna); brothers, John Bennett, Jesse Wilson; his fur babies and a number of nieces, nephews and additional family and friends.

The family would like to thank Grove Park Hospice and Amedisys Home Care for the love and support that they have given over the last several months.
