Obituary

David Wayne Martin passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026, after an extended illness, surrounded by his family. He was 65 years old.

Born on September 12, 1961, David was one of six boys in a military family, an experience that helped shape the strength, loyalty, and devotion that marked his life. He also answered the call to serve by joining the United States Army National Guard. In his working years, he spent many years with Super Sod as a truck driver.

Above all else, David’s proudest accomplishment was his family. They were the center of his life and the source of his greatest joy. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother whose love for those closest to him remained constant throughout his life.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 43 years, Christine "Penny" Martin; his children, Christopher Martin, Stacey Martin, and Elizabeth Martin Parker (Matthew); his grandchildren, Britton Vaughan (Christy Gramling), John Martin, Kaytlin Roberts, Danica Martin and Brianna Martin; his "bush grandchildren", Erin Mitchell, Hunter McClellan, and Carson McClellan; his great-grandchild, Levi Vaughan; and his brother, Paul H. Martin, Jr. He also leaves behind the many memories shared with those who knew and loved him, and the lasting example of a man whose life was grounded in family, service, and hard work.

David was preceded in death by his father and mother, Paul H. Martin and Margie L. Martin, and by his brothers, Steve Martin, Bobby Martin, Tommy Martin, and Ronald Martin.

Those who loved David will hold close the memory of a man who gave his life to his family, served his country, and worked faithfully for many years. His presence will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
