Deana (Tompkins) Leasure

Mrs. Deana Leasure, 78, of Cordova passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.  Pastor Mollie Varner will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, 4830 Columbia Road, Orangeburg.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel prior to the funeral service.

Mrs. Leasure was born on January 26, 1945, in California.  She was the daughter of the late Grover C. Tompkins, Sr. and the late Frances Harrelson Tompkins.  She was retired from Furtick Counseling.  Mrs. Leasure was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Paula Varner, brother, Grover C. Tompkins, Jr. and a sister, Mary Frances Tompkins Finger.  She was loved by all that knew her.  She will forever be missed.

Survivors include her partner for over 25 years, Harry Parler of the home; daughter, Melissa Leasure; stepchildren, Efrem Parler, Daisy Parler, Alicia Parler, Harry Williams, Tonya Holmes; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a number of step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Vic Varner; brother, George H. Tompkins (Susan); brother-in-law, Carl Finger and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
