Mrs. Debra Irene (McCroan) Irick, 64, of Orangeburg, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, in Orangeburg with her family by her side.
Born on February 1, 1961, in Orangeburg, Debra was a lifelong resident of South Carolina and a devoted homemaker throughout her life. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family and home, creating a warm and loving environment for those closest to her.
Debra shared over 47 years of marriage with her high school sweetheart and beloved husband, Billy G. Irick. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. One of their favorite pastimes was spending time outdoors—fishing and camping side by side—enjoying the simple pleasures of nature and each other’s company.
She was a loving mother to her daughter, Amy I. Knapp (Lance), and a proud grandmother to Hunter, Tyler, Hannah, Caleb, and Mason Knapp. Her family was the center of her world, and she found great joy in being present for every milestone and moment shared with them.
Debra was also a dear sister to Beth Wise (Wayne), and she maintained close bonds with many members of her extended family. She is remembered fondly by her brothers-in-law, Ricky Irick (Penny) and Dennis Irick (Wanda); sisters-in-law, Leila Waite, Diane Crosby, and Pam Rucker (Ronnie); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who were touched by her kindness and warmth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. William H. McCroan Sr. and Mrs. Shirley Foxworth Crawford; her brothers, Robert McCroan, “Jr” McCroan, and Larry McCroan; and her sister-in-law Wanda Barberan.
Family and friends may visit the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lance and Amy Knapp, 15 Calhoun Road in St. Matthews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Congaree Baptist Church, 299 Old Belleville Road. Rev. Bill Knapp will be officiating.
