Dewey Crossland Davis, 88 of Pine Hill Community died Tuesday morning, August 18, 2015 at his residence after an extended illness.

The Casket Will be placed in the church one hour before the service

Funeral Services will be held 4:00 PM Friday, August 21, 2015 at Pine Hill United Methodist Church in Pine Hill Community with burial in the church cemetery with Rev. Brandon Fulmer officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Pallbearers will be Jackie Ryan Fogle, CK "Speedy" Davis, Jr., Edwin "Eddie" Pearce, Bill Watson, Cameron Huntley and Dustin Johnson

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Etheridge, Raymond Hutto and Pine Hill Volunteer Fire Department and The Other Club.

He was born February 8, 1927 in Orangeburg County, SC; the son of the late Daniel Crossland Davis and the late Erminia Irene Fogle Davis. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Pine Hill United Methodist Church; he was a trustee, he served on the finance committee and was a Sunday School Superintendent. He was one of the founding member of the Pine Hill Volunteer Fire Department; a member of the VFW and the WOW; a former Lions Club Member. He was preceded in death by a sister; Erminia Creech Norman and a brother; James Daniel Davis.

Survivors include his wife; Jean Martin Davis of the home; 2 daughters; Pamela (Tony) Etheridge; and Erminia Kay (Rick) Krueger all of Pine Hill; 2 grandchildren; Mikaela (Dustin) Johnson of Pine Hill and Cameron (Devan) Huntley of Lexington; 1 great grand-daughter; Georgia Lynn Johnson of Pine Hill and 1 brother; C. Keith Davis, Sr. of Pine Hill and a sister-in-law; Pauline Davis of Pine Hill and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the residence and at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Memorials may be made to Pine Hill United Methodist Church; 4002 Neeses Highway; Neeses, SC 29107.
