Diane Lynn (Geddings) Rast

Diane Lynn Geddings Rast, of Orangeburg passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023, after an extended illness. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 15, 2023, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 727 Waterspring Rd., Orangeburg. Rev. Kevin Ard will be officiating.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Virgil "Bubba" Garrett, Jamie Canaday, Trevor Canaday and Tristen Canaday.

Mrs. Rast was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Dean A. Geddings, Sr. and Patricia McColeman Geddings and is predeceased by her husband Lenaire Harry "Boogie" Rast. Mrs. Rast was a member of Rivelon Baptist Church.  She was employed at Ballard Parts for over 40 years. She loved working in the yard as she was able. She enjoyed watching her many hummingbirds. Her favorite places to visit was the mountains and the beach.

Survivors include her siblings Dawn Joyner, Denise Garrett (Virgil "Bubba"), Deena Atkinson, Dean Geddings, Jr., Danni Geddings, a number of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and her companion, Jerry Rhymes.

The family would like to thank Grove Park Hospice for their excellent care and love given by Vickie, Buck, Karen, and staff.
