Diane (Peters) Long

Diane Peters Long, 74, of St. Matthews passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 10, 2024.

At Mrs. Diane’s request the family will hold a private service at a later date.

Mrs. Diane was born in Walton County, Georgia.  She was the daughter of the late James C. Peters and the late Vera Rooks Peters.  She worked for many years as a substitute teacher with the Calhoun County School System.  In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, crafting, decorating, gardening but her favorite past-time was being on Facebook.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Stephen Peters.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Randolph “Randy” Long; children, Dana Atha Mitchell (Bobby), James Stephen Long (Becky), Christopher Randall Long (Courtney), Jonathan Shane Long; grandchildren, Carla Barclay, Jessica Sill (Charles), Stephen “Harley” Dillard (Kristen), Andrew “Drew” Long, Amber Shepherd (Zane), Elli Jewel Long; great-grandchildren, Irene, Lexi, Leland, Jasmine, Eli, Ellie, Easton, Madelyn, Addison, Bliss, Kruze, Brooks, Elliot; great-great grandchildren, Joseph, Jayce, Jake and a brother, Richard Peters.
