Dixie Alice (Murray) White

Dixie Alice Murray White, 73, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.  Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg.  Pastor Larry Kennedy will be officiating.

Pallbearers will be Chad Newsome, Matt Proctor, Joshua Whisenhunt, Dawson Whisenhunt, Kanyon Hitzler and Nick Davis.

Mrs. White was born on June 5, 1944 in Orangeburg.  She was the daughter of the late Roy Murray and the late Iola Murray.  She was a member of Lake Marion Baptist Church and the Women On Missions at Lake Marion Baptist Church.  Mrs. Dixie was a loving wife, “momma” and “granny.”

Survivors include her husband, Harold White, Sr. of the home; children, Timmy Newsome (Michelle) of Orangeburg, Kenneth L. Newsome (Carla) of Branchville, Laynette Proctor (Bruce) of Cope, Angel Whisenhunt (Sam) of Branchville; grandchildren, Tiffany Newsome Hitzler, Chad Newsome, Leslie Newsome Buckman, Carlie Newsome Gainey, Megan Proctor Davis, Matt Proctor, Joshua Whisenhunt, Dawson Whisenhunt, Jonathan Jones and Rachel Jones; step-children, Patricia Fogle, Harold White, Jr. both of Orangeburg and a special cat named Precious.

Friends may call at  the residence.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to may be made  to Lake Marion Baptist Church at 1182 Scott Lake Road Summerton, S.C. 29148.
