Mrs. Dolly Ree Black Arends , 81 of Cordova died Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am before the service at the church. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; Broughton Street; Orangeburg with burial at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg. with Bishop Jason Ross officiating, directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg Pallbearers will be Brandon Swatts, Bobby Stukes, Owen Bolin, Larry Odom, James Robinson and Bill McDaniel. She was born January 31, 1932 in Barnwell County, SC; the daughter of the late Charlie Sylvester Black and the late Sina Laura Sanders Black. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was the widow of the late Johnny D. Arends.
SURVIVORS include 2 sons; John A. "Tony" Arends of Cordova; Andy and Wendy Arends of Orangeburg; 4 grandchildren; Rachel Arends, Brandon Swatts, Sarah Swatts and Andrew Arends all of Orangeburg; 2 great grandchildren; Joseph and Jordan Arends of Cordova; 3 brothers; James V. Black of Cordova; Lewis O. Black of Montgomery, AL and Willis V. Black of Rock Hill, SC and a number of nieces and nephews.
