Donald Richard Johnson

Donald Richard Johnson, age 69, passed away, Aug. 5th,2025 at his home in Bamberg, South Carolina. He was born March 25,1956 in Greenville, Mississippi to the late Robert and Christie Johnson. He was a member of the House of Refuge Pentecostal Church in Orangeburg South Carolina.

Donald graduated in Greenville Mississippi. And went on to get a Cosmetology License. And later became an instructor at Delta Beauty College And Academy Hair Design in Pearl Mississippi.

Donald loved the Lord with all his heart. And cherished his family and friends very much. He also loved traveling with Wesley to the Mountains, Beach and also going to see his family. His favorite thing to pass the time was his word search puzzles. And we cannot forget the love he had for his furry babies.

Donald is preceded in death by his father, Robert Johnson, his mother, Christie Johnson, sister, Chris Vanderford, and brother, Daniel Johnson.

He is survived by his best friend of 21 years, Herbert Wesley Patrick Jr. of Bamberg, South Carolina; one son, Robert Nathaniel Johnson of Ogden Utah (wife Susan); one daughter, Lisa Cooper of Tillar Arkansas (Husband Phillip); one stepson, Jon Patrick of Ashdown Arkansas, four sisters, Mary Rector of Yazoo City Mississippi, Joyce Caldwell of Yazoo City  Mississippi (Willie), Faye Ward of Belzoni Mississippi, June Patrick of Tillar Arkansas; two brothers, David Johnson of Spring Texas (Norma), John Johnson of Yazoo City Mississippi; two granddaughters, Madalyn Perry of Springfield Missouri (Greysun), Elizabeth Cooper of Tillar Arkansas; one grandson, Joshua Cooper of Tillar Arkansas, and a host of extended family.  Donald was also so proud knowing he was expecting his first great grandson.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at House of Refuge Church, 1622 Joe Jefford Highway, Orangeburg from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at House of Refuge Church.  pastor Josh Elders will be officiating.  Entombment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, 4830 Columbia Road, Orangeburg.
