IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Douglas Monroe "Dougie"
Bacot, III
January 5, 1985 – March 2, 2026
Douglas Monroe "Dougie" Bacot, III, born on January 5, 1985, was a beloved son, a devoted father, a beloved brother and a friend to many. Tragically, he passed away on March 2, 2026, leaving a profound void in the hearts of those who knew him.
Dougie was not just a heating and air installation specialist; he was an embodiment of kindness and humor, often bringing smiles and laughter to others. He was known for his giving nature and kindhearted spirit. He took pride in making people laugh, believing that joy could be found everyone around.
Beyond his professional life, Dougie was an adrenaline junkie and a daredevil at heart. He reveled in the thrill of adventure, particularly when it involved being near water, whether it was a tranquil river or a serene lake. His love for fishing brought him solace, often providing moments of reflection and peace.
Deeply rooted in his family, Dougie is survived by his cherished daughter, Brielle Bolks. His mother and “Pop,” Lynne and John Kennerly, along with his siblings Tia Davis, Joy Graef (Matthew), Lacey Axson (Micheal), and his "Bud" and brother, William Cooper. His father, Douglas M. Bacot, Jr. and special friends, Clay Hall (Medina) and Troy Hall. He also leaves behind a multitude of nieces, nephews, and extended family who will carry his memory in their hearts.
Dougie's belief in the gift of organ donation shines as a testament to his generous spirit. Through his decision to donate organs, several people will benefit from his legacy of kindness and compassion, further extending the impact of his life beyond what can be measured.
He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Anna Staley, paternal grandparents, Douglas M. Bacot, SR. and Zula Bacot. A cousin, Timmy Kemmerlin, and uncles, Lee and Andy Miles. Their spirits join his in honoring a man who brought so much light and laughter to this world.
As we remember Dougie, let us celebrate his life—a life full of adventures, love, and laughter. His memory will live on in the hearts and stories of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
