Eladia (Rivera) Mims

Eladia R. Mims, 73, widower of Harold K. Mims Jr, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, with her family by her side.

Eladia was born on February 12, 1952, in El Valle, Panama.  She was the daughter of Pedro Rivera and Antonia Sanchez Rivera.  She was employed for many years in different occupations in Orangeburg. Eladia always placed the needs of others ahead of her own.  Her passion was her family and being the best “MeMa.”  She loved having family gatherings and cooking for everyone. MeMa loved being outside, never missing a chance to take care of her flowers, vegetables and pets. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved. Eladia loved God and was ready to go home.

Eladia & Harold enjoyed over 50 years together.

Survivors include her children, Harold K. Mims, III, & Jane M. Massenburg (Paul); granddaughters, Julia Elise Massenburg & Myra Eladia Massenburg; great-grandson, Ephraim Isaac Massenburg, all of Santee; her parents, Pedro and Antonia Rivera of El Valle, Panama; sisters, Andrea Brennan, of El Valle, Panama, Agustina Parker of Cibolo, Texas, Inez Whitehair (Joe) of Knob Noster, Missouri, Berta Alicia Torrez (John), of Killeen, Texas, Geovana Caballero, of Claremont, California; A Sister in Christ, Herlinda Facun of Virginia Beach, VA; brothers, Pedro Rivera, Jr, Moises Rivera, Jose A. Rivera, all of El Valle, Panama, and a number of nieces and nephews of Panama & the US.

Visitation will take place at 10:30 am on May 10, 2025, at Fellowship of Praise, 8280 Old Number Six Hwy, Santee, SC and a memorial service following at 11:30 am.
