Elaine B. Porter

Elaine B. Porter, 84, entered into Glory on August 28, 2023. She was the wife of the late Julian L. Porter for nearly 65 years.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 1, 2023 at Lebanon United Methodist Church, 768 Calvary Church Road, Neeses, SC, with burial in the church’s cemetery.. Visitation will take place immediately following completion of the services. Reverand Jerry French will officiate the serviceswith welcoming comments and a prayer provided by Reverand Gary Light.

Mrs. Porter was born October 16, 1938. She was the only child of the late Juanita B. Ezekiel and Lester Berry but at an early age became a “sister” to eight aunts and uncles as she moved in with, and was reared by, her late grandmother and grandfather, Clara and Leo Baltzegar. She went on to graduate from cosmetology school and was the licensed Owner/Operator of Elaine’s Beauty Shop for 57 years. As her business thrived for decades, her loyal patrons became friends and family. Along with running her own business she and her husband raised three children and one grandson. Elaine was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church serving in many capacities over the years, but her passions were always in support of the youth and the Women’s Missionary group. She enjoyed being outside, mostly caring for her trees and shrubs and pulling weeds, butwas well known in the community for her incredible baking skills. She was also renowned within the family as somewhat of a professional shopper – always with a keen eye for anything on sale which could provide a “Nani deal”.

Survivors include her children, Judy Hildebrand (Bill), Jim Porter, and Rusty Porter (Kim), all from the Middle Willow Community; grandchildren Chris Kinsey (reared in the home), Tres Hildebrand, Les Porter, Jennifer Fields, Joey Porter, Matt Porter, Michael Porter, Wesley Porter, Jared Porter, and Grace Porter; a very special “Aunt” Elaine; and numerous great and great – great grandchildren.

Mrs. Porter’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
