Elbert Mason Houck

Graveside Services for Elbert Mason Houck, 85, will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Wesley Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, 515 Wesley Grove Road, Cordova, S.C. 29039, with the Rev. Lois Helms, Rev. Fred McDaniel, and the Rev. Michael Gramling officiating, directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg. The family will receive friends after the service.
Mr. Houck was born July 22, 1928 in Orangeburg, S.C. a son of the late Jerry L. Houck and the late Maude Williams Houck. He was retired from Greenwood Mills, served in the U.S. Navy, a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Wesley Grove United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; Judith Taylor Houck of Lexington, S.C.; four children, Sharyn (Donald) Gmerek of Greenville, S.C.; Joel (Miriam) Houck of Edinburg, Scotland, Lin (Kathy) Houck of Walterboro, S.C., and Randall Houck of Providence, Rhode Island; two step-sons; Tim Smith of Columbia, S.C. and Ben (Judy) Smith of Charlotte, N.C.; 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and two step-grandchildren; Brandon Smith and Jasmine Smith.
