Elizabeth (Robinson) O'Cain

August 2, 1952 — February 20, 2022

Elizabeth Robinson O’Cain, 69, of Leesville, S.C. passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.

Mrs. O’Cain was born on August 2, 1952, in Orangeburg.  She was the daughter of the late Raymond Robinson and then late Mary Chavis Robinson.  She was retired from BellSouth after over 22 years of service.  While at BellSouth she was a member of the Union.  Mrs. O’Cain was a Native American with the P.D. tribe.  Her Native American name was Walking Thunder.  She wanted to educate people regarding her Native American heritage.  She helped hold the first Native American Pow Wow in Orangeburg.   She had a passion for charity work especially with domestic violence and women’s shelters.   She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, T.R. Robinson.

Survivors include her sons, Michael Hoover, Jeffery S. Hoover (Jackie), Jonathan D. Hoover (Stephanie); grandchildren, Randall Headden (Janna), Jonathan Hoover (Adriana), Devin Wilson, Charles Hoover, Hannah Hoover, Gabe Hoover, Jesilynn Hoover, Rheagan Culliver,; great-grandchildren, Maggie Free, Rylie Wilson, Millie-Grace Wilson; sister, Rochelle Link (Harry) and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Agape House of Lexington for their love support and care of Mrs. O’Cain during this difficult time.
