Eric "Pee Wee" Mckenzie Grooms, Sr.

Eric McKenzie “Pee Wee” Grooms Sr. 65, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at home surrounded by family.

Eric was preceded in death by his mother, Idella O’Neal Grooms, and father, Hebron Mayfield (H.M.) Grooms, niece, Tiffany Rutland and brother-in-law, Ronnie Dempsey.

Eric is survived by his wife, Felicia; his children, Eric “Ken” (Amanda) Grooms, Jr., Ashley (Matthew) Huggins, Richard (Jana) Weaver; his 7grandchildren, Ashlyn, Kaden, Jakob,  Robert, Madison, Grayson, and Alyssa; his 7 sisters, Rose Dempsey, Beverly Haddock, Marlene (Teddy) Wise, Susie Crawley, Rhonda (Will) Gunnells, Elsie (David) Davis, Betty Mitchell and many nieces and nephews.

Eric was a member of the St. Matthews Church of God of Prophecy. Eric retired from Delavan in Bamberg, S.C. He was a devoted Carolina Gamecock super fan. He loved all things, Carolina. Eric loved music but his favorite genre was Southern Gospel.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Church of God of Prophecy, 910 St. Matthews Road, St. Matthews, SC 29135.

A Home Going celebration will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Church of God of Prophecy in St. Matthews.  Rev. Billy McGugan will be officiating.  A private family burial will be held at a later date.

A special thank you from the family to Daniel and Nancy Gartman, and all of Eric’s church family for their friendship, love, support, and prayers throughout this journey. Eric truly loved you all.
