Mr. Frank David Jordan, Sr., age 80, passed away on May 23, 2025, in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Born on February 28, 1945, in Mobile, Alabama, he lived a life marked by dedication to service and family. He also loved to hunt, fish and spend time in the outdoors.
Mr. Jordan proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. His military career included service in Vietnam and several years as a Drill Sergeant—a role that reflected his leadership and commitment to shaping future soldiers. His final years in the military were spent developing the hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation program on Fort Jackson
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. John Levert Jordan and Mrs. Ruby Byrd Merritt.
He is survived by his sons, Frank David Jordan, Jr. of Irmo and Brian Jordan (Dana) of St. Matthews; grandchildren Christian Jordan (Zuzana) of Virginia and Jason Jordan (Maci) of Orangeburg; and great-grandchild Axton Jordan. He also leaves behind his brothers, Larry Jordan, Sr. (Wanda), Joel Jordan, Robert Jordan, Dwanye Jordan (Carmen) and his sisters, Sheila Babin (James), Betty Zaradich (Joe) and an additional number of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Edisto Home Care and Hospice, Wellfit Homecare for the love that they showed Mr. Frank and the support that was given to the family.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at West End Cemetery in St. Matthews. Rev. Bobby Williams will be officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.
