Obituary

Fred “Ray” Hutto III, 69 of Orangeburg, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026, following a brief illness and a long battle with heart disease.

A Celebration of life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Stuart Antley will be officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:00 A.M. prior to the Celebration of life service.

Family and Friends may call at the home of Josh and Autumn Davis, 2933 Norway Rd, Neeses, S.C.

Ray was born August 14, 1957, in Orangeburg. He was the son of the late Fred Raymond Hutto, Jr. and the late Helena Fort Hutto.

Ray graduated from Edisto High School. He was an Auto Mechanic at John’s Car Shop for 25 years before being placed on medical disability. Ray loved his family and friends. When his children were young, he could be found on the ball field coaching or sitting on the side lines cheering them on. As he got older and became Ray Ray he could still be found sitting on the sidelines watching his grandkids playing sports. He loved his grandkids with all he had and was so proud of them. Ray loved to go to the lake, sit in the deer stand and watch the Cardiac Cocks (Gamecocks) play. Ray Ray will be deeply missed by all that knew him for there is only one.

Survivors include a daughter, Autumn Hutto Davis (Josh) of Bolentown, son Fred Raymond Hutto IV (Audri) of Cordova. Grandchildren Landon, Bailey Rae, Charleigh of Bolentown, Jones, Emma, Rory, Jessie of Cordova, a sister Doris (Jerry) Antley of Cope; special friend, Johnny Kennerly and a number of nieces and nephews.
