George Walter Whisenhunt, Jr. 72 of St. Matthews, S.C. died January 15, 2015 at MUSC in Charleston after an illness.

The funeral will be held at 3:00 P.M., Monday, January 19, 2015 at Congaree Baptist Church with burial at West End Cemetery in St. Matthews, S.C. Rev. Nick Fox will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be Travis Fulmer, Wayne Fulmer, Brian Fulmer, Terry Whisenhunt, Trevor Whisenhunt, Todd Troutman
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dalton Whisenhunt, Christian Whisenhunt, Mackey Jones
Mr. Whisenhunt was born on July 25, 1942 in Orangeburg, S.C. He was the son of the late George Walter Whisenhunt, Sr. and the late Dessie Dell Irick Whisenhunt. He served in the United States Army and the National Guard. He was a member of Congaree Baptist Church. He was predeceased by a son George Walter (Trey) Whisenhunt III and grandparents John Lee and Shellie Bessinger Irick and S.C. and Hattie Bair Whisenhunt.
Survivors include his wife Agnes Faye Fulmer Whisenhunt of St. Matthews; 2 sons Terry (Christyna) Whisenhunt of St. Matthews and Trevor Whisenhunt of St. Matthews; 5 grandchildren, Christian (Trey) Whisenhunt, Dalton O'Neal Whisenhunt, Farah Grace Whisenhunt, Megan Lee Whisenhunt, Maddox Whisenhunt; 2 sisters, Wanda Dell (Melvin) Boltin of Orangeburg and Ann (James) Young of Orangeburg.
Friends may call at the residence and at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 18, 2015 from 6:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg, S.C.
