George Woodrow "Woody" Binnicker

August 5, 1941 — February 7, 2014

George Woodrow "Woody" Binnicker, 72 of 625 Binnicker Bridge Road; Orangeburg died Friday February 7, 2014 at Lexington Medical Center after an extended illness.

The Casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Double Branch Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery with Rev. Dewayne Woosley and Rev. James Williams officiating.

Pallbearers will be Ken Thomas, Dave Thomas, Ray Thomas, Col. Ray Simpson, Tony Etheridge and Dean Etheridge

Honorary Pallbearers are Present and Former Deacons of Double Branch Baptist Church

He was born August 5, 1941 in Orangeburg County, SC; the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Binnicker and the late Cornelia Madeline Holman Binnicker. He served in the US Army as a paratrooper. He was a member of Double Branch Baptist Church; a member of the Edisto Shrine Club Equality Lodge # 323 and a member of the Omar Temple and a member of the Scottish Rites #32. He was employed with Utica Tool for 18 years and was employed with Mayer Industries and a graduate of Carolina Tool and Dye.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years; Patsy Williams Binnicker of the home; 1 son; George Christopher (Chris) Binnicker of Orangeburg; 1 daughter; Pamela "Pam" Binnicker Smoak (Jamie) of Cope; 4 grandchildren; Branden and Justin Binnicker; Laken Michelle Smoak and Eston Russell Smoak; 2 great grandchildren; Breanna and Damon Binnicker 2 sisters; Lilly Walling (Andy) of Orangeburg; Joyce Simpson (Tommy) of Chapin, SC 1 brother; David Binnicker (Linda) of Six Mile, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the residence; 625 Binnicker Bridge Road; Orangeburg and at the funeral home.

VISITATION WILL BE HELD 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, February 10, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

MEMORIALS MAY BE MADE TO the Shriners Children's Hospital; 950 West Faris Road; Greenville, SC 29605-4277 or to Double Branch Baptist Church; 3567 Neeses Highway; Orangeburg, SC 29115.
