Geri Livingston Wood peacefully departed this world on December 15th, 2025, at the age of 59. Born on May 3rd, 1966, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, Geri touched countless lives across the state she called home.

Geri lived a life shaped by public service and protection. In the 1990s, she served as an agent with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, where she worked to bring justice to vulnerable children and elderly individuals. She also served as a bodyguard to the wife of Governor Beasley for a part of his term.

In later years, Geri devoted herself to teaching water safety alongside her mother and brother throughout Orangeburg and the surrounding communities. Her greatest joy was guiding infants and toddlers into the water for the very first time, parents close at hand, turning fear into trust and small splashes into lifelong confidence.

Geri is survived by her daughter, Abbie Wood of Spartanburg; her brother, Jason Livingston of Orangeburg; and her uncle, Bruce Bauerle of San Augustine, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Gale Livingston; her brother, Todd Livingston; and her grandmother, Edna Bauerle.

Geri will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of strength, compassion, and service.
