Glenda “ Gail” Laney, 75, of Cordova, S.C. passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg. Rev. Larry Williams will be officiating. Entombment will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton, N.C.
Mrs. Laney was born October 8, 1941 in Lumberton, N.C. She was the daughter of the late Palmer Lee Britt and the late Claudia Bell Faircloth Britt. She was a member of Rivelon Baptist Church. She was retired from Orangeburg County Court House department of Register of Deeds .She is preceded in death by her husband—Robert Ben Laney and step daughter-Bobbie Degnan..
Survivors include her daughter; Teri and Jay Padgett of Orangeburg, granddaughters; Brittany Padgett of St. Matthews and Brandy Vargo of Orangeburg and grand son-in-law; Eddie Curles of St. Matthews,; great-granddaughters; Rylee Vargo, Abigail Curles, Kailyn Curles; step-children; Benny and Sandra Laney of Camden and Kevin Degnan of Gastonia, N.C.; step-grandchildren; Michelle and Travis Hughes and Michael and Tae Laney all of Camden; step-great grandchildren; Laney Hughes, Foster Hughes, Porter Laney, and Hudson Laney.
Friends may call at the residence 1207 Cannon Bridge Road, Cordova, S.C.
Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:00 P. M. on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Home prior to the funeral service
