Glenn Dale Crider , 67 of St. Matthews died Sunday, November 13, 2016 at his residence. Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia with Military Honors.
He was born November 12, 1949 in Orangeburg, SC; the son of the late Jacob Crider, Sr. and the late Maude Heckle Crider. He served in the U.S. Army and was a disabled Vietnam Veteran, also a recipient of The Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion Post 12 in St. Matthews. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad Company. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed greatly by his family.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Chalker Crider of St. Matthews; 2 sons, Jay (Sarah) Crider of Lexington and Rusty (Jennie Lynn) Crider of Columbia; 4 grandchildren, Hailey and Riley Crider both of Lexington, Wyatt and Kadyn Crider both of Columbia; a brother, Jacob Lawrence Crider III of St. Matthews; a sister; Ivadean (Charlie) Mooring of Lexington; 1 nephews; Jacob Crider IV of West Columbia; 3 nieces; Jessie Crider of St. Matthews; Kay (Henry) Vinson of Blythewood and Deanna (Brian) Duffy of Lake Murray and his dog which was his baby, Blackie.
Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
