Grace Smoak Hughes

Mrs. Grace Smoak Hughes, 83, of Cordova, S.C. died Friday April 11, 2014 at the Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, S.C.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Memorial Church of the Nazarene at 569 Berry Street, Orangeburg, with the Rev. Billy Williams officiating. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc.

Pallbearers will be Mark Whetstone, Gerald Martin, David Nettles, Jimmy Hardee, Danny Creel, and Harry Leviner.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Hughes was born November 6, 1930 in Lodge, S.C. a daughter of the late Eddie (Doc) Smoak and the late Mearl Medlin Smoak. She was a member of the Memorial Church of the Nazarene and taught Sunday School for 55 years. She was the widow of the late David William Hughes. She was preceded in death be a daughter, Zandra H. Wilkes and three sons; Charles William Hughes and David Vernon Hughes and Paul Edward Hughes a sister-Doris Stillinger, two brothers; Emory Smoak and Ed Smoak.

Survivors a daughter, Ronda H. Bouchette and Ricky of Orangeburg; two sons; Franklin Brodus Hughes and Sandy of Santee and Jimmy Douglas Hughes and Dianne of St. Matthews 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence of Ronda and Ricky Bouchette, 6455 Kipps Lane, Orangeburg, S.C. 29115 and at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00.M. Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the Memorial Church of the Nazarene, 569 Berry Street, Orangeburg, S.C.
