Hallie Roosevelt "Deek" Kittrell died at his home on Saturday, September 13, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Scott Alewine with burial following at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg, S.C.
Pallbearers will be Mike Kittrell, Troy Kittrell, Roger Kittrell, Sub McAlhany, Casey Richardson, Kurt Mead
Mr. Kittrell was born on September, 15, 1933 in Orangeburg, S.C. He was the son of the late Hallie W. Kittrell and Victoria Etheridge Kittrell. He was a graduate of Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College with an Associate's Degree in Tool and Die. He was employed by Utica Tools as a tool and die maker. He was a member of Covenant Baptist Church in Cordova, S.C. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife; Shelby Hiers Kittrell of the Canaan Community; two sons; Tony A. Kittrell (Rhonda) of Neeses, and Jeffrey H. Kittrell (Melanie) of Charlotte, N.C.; one daughter; Sharon K. Simmons (David) of Orangeburg; eight grandchildren; Ryan, Jordan, Brye, Jonathan, Caleb, Abby, Joshua and Delilah; one sister; Grace McAlhany of Branchville, S.C. and one brother; Jacob "Tot" Kittrell of the Canaan Community; one sister-in-law; Willie Mae Kittrell of the Canaan Community and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call the residence of Mrs. Shelby Hiers Kittrell in the Canaan Community, and Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Orangeburg, S.C. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 15, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg, S.C.
