Harry Layne Smith, 55 of 1291 Whisperwood Road, Cameron died Thursday, May 26, 2016 in Lexington.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with Rev. Tom McElhaney officiating.
He was born February 17, 1961 in Orangeburg, SC; the son of Margie Troutman Roberts and the son of the late Harry Victor Smith. He was a member of Four Holes Baptist Church. Mr. Smith served in the National Guard and was employed with Michelin Tire Company and was an avid hunter.
Survivors include his Loving Mother who he was very close to: Margie (Harry) Roberts of Orangeburg; His wife; Molly B. Smith of Orangeburg; a daughter; Jessica (Shawn) Lightsey of Statesboro, GA; a son; Richard Robert (Brooke) McDaniel of Orangeburg; 3 grandchildren; Reese and Skylar Lightsey of Georgia and Maci Anita McDaniel of Orangeburg; his special friend; Brenda Posey of Lexington; friend; Marion Manor of Lexington; step-brothers, Mark Roberts and Lee Roberts; 2 step-sisters, Nina Roberts and Trina Johnson; and a special pet, Zory.
