Harvey Evans Felkel, Jr., 86 of Orangeburg died Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. on Thursday prior to the funeral service.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Bethany Baptist Church in Bolentown with burial at Limestone United Methodist Church Cemetery, 441 Limestone Road, Wolfton, SC 29115.
His Son-in-law, Mr. Randy Garrick will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be his Grandsons; Hunter Felkel, Robert Felkel, Taylor Garrick, Trevor Felkel, Tanner Garrick, Tucker Garrick and Cooper Felkel
He was born July 12, 1930 in Johns, NC; the son of the late Harvey Evans Felkel, Sr. and the late Mayte Lee Miller Felkel. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Bolentown. Mr. Felkel served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and also served in the National Guard. He was retired owner and operator of his Dairy Farm. He retired from Applied Engineering where he was a Master Welder. Mr. Felkel enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking with his wife, children and grandchildren.. He also enjoyed going to Bates General Store, now Bolentown General Store visiting with all his farmer friends. He was preceded in death by a son; Harvey Evans Felkel III; a grandson, James Evan Martin Felkel, a brother, Edwin Milton Felkel, a sister, Eugenia “Jean” Felkel Purdue and by a brother-in-law, Tommy Thompson.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Junelle Culler Felkel of the home; son, Phillip Calhoun Felkel of Blacksburg; daughter; Elizabeth Felkel Garrick (Randy) of Simpsonville; son, Douglas Lee Felkel of Orangeburg; daughter; Kathryn Felkel Fahney (Chris) of North Charleston; son, Willis Harvey Felkel (Tiffany) of North Charleston; Grandchildren; Hunter and Trevor Felkel; Taylor, Spenser, Tanner and Tucker Garrick; Robert and Rebecca Felkel; Ava and Mya Fahney; Abigail and Cooper Felkel; a sister, Frances "Frankie" Thompson of Charleston; a brother; Tommy Felkel (Francis Ann) of Columbia and a sister-in-law; Bettye Nelson (Andy) of Summerville; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Freddie and Edith Phillips and Jimmy and Donna DeWitt.
