Homer Melton Hall, Sr. was born on January 11, 1956, a beacon of strength and love for his family and friends throughout his life. After a commendable career spanning more than 43 years at Koyo Bearing, he retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. After retirement Homer found joy in watching USC gamecock football and shooting pool on Friday nights. Homer deeply valued the relationships in his life, cherishing each moment spent with his grandchildren whom they affectionately called “Papa Homer.”
Homer was a devoted father to his children Amanda Hall (Robert Bingham) of St. Matthews, Homer “Bubba” Hall, Jr. (Dawn) of Cope, and Tonya Cain (Ric) of Eutawville. He was not just a father, but a guiding light, shaping the lives of many. His love extended to his grandchildren—Bryceton Bramblett, Courtney Bramblett, Abigail Bingham, Ashleigh Bingham, Ryder Bingham, Blake Hall, Nathan Hall, and Aubree Hall—each of whom held a special place in his heart. He took immense joy in watching them grow and thrive, and his presence will be profoundly missed in their lives.
Homer is also survived by his beloved sisters, Linda Clarke and Patricia Whitmire, along with a number of nieces, nephews, and additional family and friends who will forever hold dear the memories they shared with him. His spirit will live on through their stories and the lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Hall and Beulah Bell Binnicker Hall, as well as his beloved wife, Lynn Hall. Their absence leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, but their memories serve as a comforting reminder of the love and joy they have shared.
A visitation will be held on December 7, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg, SC, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM. Homer will then be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Walt Griffith, Danny Griffith, Glenn "Hamm" Bramblett, T.J. Jeffcoat, Tony Dempsey and Bryan Crosby.
Homer Melton Hall, Sr. leaves behind not just family but a legacy of hard work, paternal love, and cherished memories that will resonate in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
