It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jack Christopher “Chris” Metts, born April 6, 1983, in Bamberg, South Carolina, share that he passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 28, 2026.

Chris will be remembered as a devoted family man, a hardworking businessman, and an enthusiastic Clemson Tiger fan. He was the owner and operator of Metts Contracting Service, and he took pride in his work. Above all else, his family was his proudest accomplishment.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer Metts, and by his sons, Tyler “Ty” Allen Metts and Jaxson “Jax” Christopher Metts, who were a cherished part of his life and legacy. He is also survived by his parents, Jackey “Wayne” and Shirley Metts; his brother, Dwayne Metts, and sister-in-law, Susan Metts; his sister, Karen Abdelgawad, and brother-in-law, Ahmed Abdelgawad; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Judy and Sonny Glover and several nieces and nephews whom he adored.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Columbia Road Church of God (Orangeburg), 2485 Columbia Road Northeast, Orangeburg, SC 29118. The service will be live streamed on YouTube.  Rev. Travis Shirley will be officiating.

In memory of Chris, those attending are asked to wear Clemson attire, a fitting tribute to someone who so faithfully cheered for the Tigers. 

In lieu of flowers memorials in Chris' memory may be made at Orangeburg Christian Academy at 1842 Joe Jeffords Hwy, Orangeburg, S.C. 29115.

Chris will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
