James E. Crosby, Sr. , 83 of Orangeburg died Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the Methodist Oaks in Orangeburg.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with burial at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg with Mr. Danny Pensel officiating.
Pallbearers will be Danny Stillinger, Nick Cole, Cliff Fairey, Cornelius Furtick, Donnie Williams and Trenton Wolfe.
He was born September 24, 1931 in Camden, SC; the son of the late James B. Crosby and the late Lucille Mills Crosby. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired from Ed Davis Body Shop and was retired owner and operator of Inner-State Appraisal. He was the widower of the late Barbara Ann Crosby. He was preceded in death by a daughter; Deborah D. Reagan, a grand daughter; Barbara Pace and a grandson; James D. Crosby, Jr.
Survivors include his children; J. Darrel Crosby (Betina) of Tampa, FL; Barry E. Crosby (Joni) of Irmo; Jimmy Crosby (Kaye) of Cordova; Karen Fairey and Jessica Crosby both of Orangeburg and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also a special caregiver, Hannah Sweatman and a sister; Mildred (Lonnie) Rast of Goldsboro, NC.
Friends may call at the residence of Jimmy and Kaye Crosby; 3029 Cordova Road; Cordova and at the funeral home.
Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, June 12, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
