James Benjamin Franklin

James Benjamin (Jim) Franklin passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving children on October 11, 2016.
Jim was born in Branchville, SC on June 13, 1944. His proud parents were the late Johnson Franklin of Branchville, SC and Helena Williams Hughes of Cope, SC.
He resided in Orangeburg, SC where he served in the car business for over 40 years. He was a loyal employee for Wannamaker Motors and Superior Motors.
Jim is survived by three loving children; son James Channing (Chan) Franklin and his wife, Kerry; daughter Diana Dawn (Dede)Franklin Case and her husband, Randall; daughter Suzanne Franklin Terry and her husband, Will. Jim is also survived by seven adoring grandchildren; Carman, Jimmy, Nick, Lizzy, Parker, Trip and Chan.
His family will receive friends on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg, S.C. A private memorial service where Jim’s ashes will be scattered will be held at a later date by his family.
