James Harter Brant, 79 of 3935 Rowesville Road; Rowesville died Tuesday night, October 21, 2014. A Graveside Service will be held 1:30 PM Friday,October 24, 2014 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg with Rev. Billy Williams officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
He was born July 13, 1935 in Orangeburg, SC; the son of the late Bertie Asbury Brant and the late Lillie Mills Brant. He retired from the National Guard. He worked 30 years with LP Gas Business and the last 20 years at McCall's Supply. He was preceded in death by his wife; Dorothy "Dot" Zeigler Rast Brant.
Survivors include his wife; Ann Thompson Brant of Branchville; his children; Deborah Hamar (William Jaberg) of Rowesville; Barry Brant of Rowesville; Mike (Charlotte) Brant of Rowesville and Brenda Burns of Orangeburg; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 8 brothers and sisters; Luke Brant; Ed (Devone) Brant both of Orangeburg; Gertrude Thompson of Cordova; George Brant of Orangeburg; Betty Carson of Cordova; Mary Cunio of Rowesville; Roger (Mary) Brant of Cordova and Gloria Chaplin of Orangeburg

VISITATION will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
