Mr. James Kirkland “Kirk” Mixson, III passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Palmetto Health Richland.
A visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 29, 2017 in the Fellowship Hall at Orangeburg Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Orangeburg Lutheran Church in Orangeburg, S.C. Burial will follow in Norway Cemetery in Norway, S.C.
Pallbearers will be, Matthew Davis, Patrick Blake,Trey Suttle, Kevin Townsend, Terry Smoak and Chris Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will beThe Orangeburg Lutheran Church Chancel Choir.
Mr. James was born on July 25, 1938 in Norway, S.C. He was the son of the late James Kirkland Mixson, II and the late Eleanor Antley Mixson. He was a member of Orangeburg Lutheran Church in Orangeburg.
Survivors include his daughter, Kristi Mixson Hartwell (Brian) of Columbia; son, Reggie Mixson of Columbia; granddaughter, Brianna Hartwell of Columbia; sister, Jackie Townsend (Luther)of Columbia; brothers, George Mixson (Mary) of Beville, Texas and Tommy Mixson of Macon, Georgia and a number of nieces and nephews.
