James Derek Lincoln, born April 1, 1965, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the age of 61.

James will be remembered for the steady presence he brought to those around him. He worked at Chestnut Grill for many years, a place where his time and effort became part of the rhythm of daily life for many who knew him. He also attended Four Holes Baptist Church, where he remained connected in faith and fellowship.

He is survived by his aunt, Shirley Till; his niece, Anna Cain; and his cousins Angela Harrison (Donald), Brian Axson (Harriet), Lee Ann Hewitt (Tracy) and Stephen Axson (Danielle), and many additional extended family and friends who were especially dear to him. 

James was preceded in death by his father and mother, Richard and Mary Alice Lincoln; his sister, Mary Alisa Cain; his nephew, Christopher Cain; and his grandparents, Mott O. Dantzler and Verna Yancey Dantzler.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Four Holes Baptist Church, 1622 Four Holes Road, Orangeburg, South Carolina 29115.
