James Angus Morris

Mr. James Angus Morris, 90 of St. Matthews, SC passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015. He was born September 30, 1925 in Barnwell County, SC to the late Willie Aaron Morris and the late Margaret Estell Morris. He was a 1942 graduate of Hilda High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II serving on the USS Richmond. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 1980 as a rural mail carrier. He was a loving Husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Athleta Bozard Morris and by 2 sisters, Ruth M. Collins and Elizabeth M. Still both of Barnwell County.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Calhoun Baptist Church, 4318 Old State Road, St. Matthews, with Pastors Max J. Kaster and Norman Keefe officiating. Visitation will be at 2:00 PM at the church prior to the service. Burial will be at West End Cemetery in St. Matthews with a Graveside Eulogy by his nephew, Rev. Marshall Still. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers are Achille Collins, Ted Collins, Marshall Still, Ricky Bair, Lee Hollingsworth, Ted Ficek and Bubba Hite.

Survivors include two daughters, Angela M. Jones of Miami Springs, FL, and Marla M. Fogle and husband, Joe, of Fort Mill, SC; three grandchildren, Tara F. Orand and husband Neil, of Atlanta, GA, Kim F. Bellamy and husband Bryan of Savannah, GA, Tripp Fogle and wife Leah of Fayetteville, GA; and one great-grandson, Chasen Bellamy of Savannah, GA.
