James D. Proveaux

James D. Proveaux, 88, of 120 Lucy Lane, Orangeburg, SC died at his residence March 2, 2013.

Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., in Orangeburg, SC. Funeral service will be 4:00 PM, Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the graveside at Sunnyside Cemetery. Rev. Steven Rucker and Rev. Ellis will be in charge of the services.

Mr. Proveaux was born December 27, 1924 in Colleton County; he was the son on the late James Duncan Proveaux and the late Viola Hoover Proveaux. He was retired from Albemarle. He also served in the US Coast Guard. Mr. Proveaux was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Proveaux; a grandson, Donald O'Connor Toole, Jr. and great granddaughter October Grubbs.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Louise Proveaux of the home; one son, James Donald Proveaux and Cynthia Johnson of Orangeburg; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three nephews and one niece.
