Obituary

It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jaxson Eli “Wildman” Worthington, who left us unexpectedly on Thursday, May 14, 2026. Born on April 18, 2012, Jaxson's life, though brief, was filled with a vibrant spirit and boundless love.

Jaxson was a cherished 7th grade student at Carver Edisto Middle School, where his zest for life and warm personality touched the hearts of his classmates and teachers alike. Known affectionately as “Wildman,” he loved to hang out with his friends, bringing joy and laughter wherever he went. Above all, Jaxson loved his family deeply, and his presence was a source of immense happiness and pride to them.

He is survived by his devoted parents, Lee and Dana Parker Worthington, who will forever hold him in their hearts. His brothers, Derick Worthington and Layla, Brandon Worthington, Cole Worthington, and Clayton Beach, along with his beloved sister Ashley Worthington. Jaxson’s maternal grandparents, Ronda Hoffman, Billy G. Parker, Jr. and Janet, and as well as his paternal grandparents, William and Dora Worthington, continue to carry his spirit in their hearts. He also leaves behind a loving extended family that includes numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends who were blessed to know his vibrant soul.We remember, with heartfelt tenderness, those family members who have preceded him in death: his grandparents Bill and Betty Parker, as well as Pauline Morton and Robert D. Hoffman. 

Services to honor Jaxson's life will begin with a visitation at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1012 Whitman St SE in Orangeburg, SC 29115, on Monday, May 18, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A second visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Columbia Road Church of God, at 2485 Columbia Road Northeast, Orangeburg, SC 29118. The funeral service will follow immediately after, at 2:00 PM at the same location. Pastor Cindy Williams will be officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 2720 Broughton Street, Orangeburg. 

Though his time with us was all too brief, Jaxson Eli “Wildman” Worthington’s impact on those fortunate enough to know him will endure forever. His boundless love for family, his joyful spirit among friends, and his unwavering warmth leave an indelible mark that will continue to inspire and comfort all who loved him deeply.
