Jean Marie Nettles Grooms, 79 of 477 Hammond Cross Rd., St. Matthews died Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Calhoun Convalescent Center in St. Matthews.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD 4:00 PM SATURDAY, APRIL 23, 2016 AT GETHSEMANE BAPTIST CHURCH, HAMMONDS CROSS ROAD NEAR ST. MATTHEWS, SC. Rev. Henry Cooper will be officiating.
She was born September 23, 1936 in Orangeburg, SC; the daughter of the late John Daniel Nettles and Lallie Way Nettles. She was the widow of the late Joseph R. Grooms and was preceded in death by a daughter; Susan Nettles O'Quinn and by an infant grandson.
Survivors include 1 son; Robert Holdford of Swansea, SC; 1 daughter; Maria (Steven) Cantor of Philadelphia; grandchildren; Stephanie (Michael) Cruthird, Chad (Jen) Davis, Cory (Erica) Davis, Kimberly Ardary, Krystal (Jacob) Perritt, Lenny Ardary, Leon (Danielle) Bruce, Jr.; 5 great grandchildren; special friends; Dana Judy and Jennifer Barnhill.
