Mrs. Jeddie H. “June” Rast , 98 passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 14, 2017
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Bowman First Baptist Church with burial at Bowman Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Steve Scott, Rev. Jimmy Fanning and Rev. Haywood Knight officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburrg
Pallbearers will be Tony Westbury, Johnathan Kelchner, Harvey Rast, Joe Hughes, Jimmy Craven and Don Myzell.
She was born January 17, 1919 in Berkley County, SC; the daughter of the late Eddie M. Mizell and the late Mary Jane Clarke Mizell. She was the widow of James A. Rast, Sr. with whom he spent over 54 years. She worked many years at the “Cigar Factory” in Charleston and ended her working career at Smith Corona in Orangeburg. June was a member, past Treasurer and Past Sunday School teacher at Bowman First Baptist. She loved the Lord. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Survivors include three children; Helen Zirk of Bowman, Norma Hilliard (Tom) of Orangeburg and James A. Rast, Jr. (Jimmy and Pam) of Bowman. She had three grandchildren; Joe Hughes (Karen) of Cope, Skip McNulty of Orangeburg, Britney Rast of Orangeburg. She has 2 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the residence of Jimmy and Pam Rast; 5933 Charleston Highway, Bowman and at the funeral home.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
