With profound love, we commemorate the life of Jenille A. Purdy, who departed this world on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the graceful age of ninety-one. Born on September 26, 1934, in Motley, Minnesota, Jenille’s life blossomed much like the gardens she so tenderly cultivated.

Jenille’s earthly journey was characterized by wholehearted devotion—to family, to friends, and to the beauty she found in everyday living. The daughter of Roy and Emma Thomson, both of whom preceded her in passing, she imbibed their values of perseverance, compassion, and grace. 

Her beloved husband, Don Purdy, now gone before her, was her cherished partner through many years. She is remembered by her daughters, Cynthia "Cyndee" Waltz (Gene) and Dawn Dempsey (Mark).  Jenille found joy in her grandchildren, Noah and Olivia Dempsey, who carry forth her gentleness and curiosity.

She also mourned the loss of her beloved brother Myron Thomson and sisters, Beverly Steindel and Ardith Olson, treasures of her earliest days.

Among Jenille’s many pleasures, the art of gardening was a faithful companion. The act of tending to the earth, encouraging new life, and watching her labors bloom mirrored her approach to all she held dear: patient, nurturing, and always attentive to the smallest wonders. For Jenille, each season in her garden spoke of hope, renewal, and the quiet grace that defined her existence.
