Jern Buck, Sr.

Jern Buck Sr. passed away peacefully at MUSC after a long illness.

Mr. Buck was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Cordova, SC, and was the Produce Manager for Piggly Wiggly on Columbia Road with 65 years of service.

Mr. Buck greeted the residents of Orangeburg throughout his 65-year career with a smile and tender heart.

When Mr. Buck retired he made the front page of the Times and Democrat for his outstanding service to his community.

Mr. Buck served in the Army Reserves after graduating from Edisto High School.

You could often find Mr. Buck at his favorite eatery, Cathy’s Country Cooking every morning for breakfast with a cup of coffee and the morning paper.

He loved his family, animals and his favorite cigars.

He is survived by his children, Steven Buck (Genia Buck, Victoria Buck (Jason Vickers), Micheal Buck Sr.

He had eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his late wife Sarah Buck, his daughter Dianne Buck, and his son, Jern Buck Jr.
