Jerry “Michael” Berry,  69  of Orangeburg passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017 at his residence

The casket will be placed in the church 1 hour prior to the funeral service.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Double Branch Baptist Church in Orangeburg with burial in the church cemetery with  Rev. Jimmy Fanning officiating directed by   Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg

Pallbearers will be  Eddie Jumper, Lee Amaker, Ron Backhaus, Dusty Johnson, Gary Joyner and Joseph Luhrs

Honorary Pallbearer will be Earl O. Irvin

Mr. Berry was born on November 23, 1947 in Orangeburg County.  He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Macadoo Berry and Joysene Sheppard Berry.  He served in the United States Navy.  Mr. Berry was retired as the co-owner of Berry Wholesale.  He was a member of Double Branch Baptist Church, the V.F.W. and the Elks Lodge 897.

Survivors include his partner, Constance Higginbotham of Orangeburg; children, Kimberly (Steven) Beach of Columbia and Kevin (Kristin) Berry of Mt. Pleasant; 8 grandchildren, Nicholas, Andrew, Joshua and Samuel Beach; Landon, Brayden, Griffin and Madelyn Berry; 2 brothers, Larry M. (Mary) Berry of Orangeburg and Richard “Dickie” (Cindy) Berry of Orangeburg; sister, Renee’ (Toby) Proveaux of Knightdale, North Carolina and 3 nephews and 1 niece, Ritchie Berry, Kelly Winters, Justin Proveaux and Tyler Proveaux and a special friend Brady.

Visitation will be held  from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
