Jerry Allen Martin

Jerry Allen Martin, 65, of Orangeburg passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, after an extended illness.

Mr. Martin was born in Orangeburg, S.C.  He was the son of the late Lawrence Martin and Cecelia Schwarz Martin.  He was a 1978 graduate of Orangeburg Wilkinson High School.  He was a faithful member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church.  He and his wife were very active with the Shepherd Ministry.  Mr. Martin was a truck driver for many years until his health declined.  He worked for several trucking companies including Santee Carriers, Startrans and most recently Fraley and Schilling.  In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling and fishing.  His family was his life.  He was a loving son, husband and father.  He will forever be missed.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Anita Judy Martin; son, Tarrant “Allen” Martin; daughter, Virginia Cornell Martin; mother, Cecelia S. Martin; brother, Robert Lewis Martin; his fur babies, “Dabo” and “Shadow” and a number of nieces, nephews and additional family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, sisters, Linda Martin, Mary Frances Martin and his beloved fur baby, “Marie.”

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, April 19, 2024, at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 1980 Columbia Road NE, Orangeburg.  Rev. Cindy Muncie will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 2720 Broughton Street, Orangeburg.

The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 P.M. on Friday, April 19, 2024, at St. Andrews United Methodist Church prior to the funeral service.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Reese Martin, Mike Brant, Andrew Shuler, Sam Huggins, Stephen Castello, and Tony Collins.
