Jervey Clyde Kemmerlin , 89 of 1612 St. Matthews Road, Orangeburg   died Friday,  March 17, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held  11:00 AM Monday, March 20, 2017  at the First Baptist Church in Orangeburg with  burial at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg with Rev. Ryan Tucker officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Pallbearers will be Jim Johnson, Jr., Noah Parker, Sean Glancy.

Mr. Kemmerlin was born December 8, 1927 in Orangeburg County, SC; the son the late Walter Wise Kemmerlin, Sr. and the late Maggie Syfrett Kemmerlin. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II; a Master Mason and a member of the VFW. He was the first Cable TV Salesman in Orangeburg; Owner and operator of several Grocery Stores; employed with Crestlawn and Belleville Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg and was an insurance salesman for a number of insurance companies. He was the widower of the late Miriam Davis Kemmerlin after 65 years of marriage. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Marion Kemmerlin, Sr., Raymond Kemmerlin, Rudolph Kemmerlin, Walter Kemmerlin, Jr., and by 4 sisters; Lois K. Arant, Dorothy K. Arant, Janie K. Culler and Ruth K. Wardlaw.

Survivors  include 2 Daughters; Ginger Kemmerlin Parker (Doug) of Summerville; Pamela Kemmerlin Johnson (Jimmy) of Orangeburg; Grandchildren; Robyn Johnson Glancy (Sean) of Sandy Run, Jimmy Johnson, Jr. (Summer) of Orangeburg; Noah Jamison Parker of Mt. Pleasant, Rosemary Alice Parker (Bianca) Bosch of Columbia, Pamela Fredette Burch (Phillip) of Columbia; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and  1 sister, Vivian K. Dawson of Orangeburg and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the residence and at the funeral home.

Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Marie Davis who was dedicated and lovingly cared for Pappy for the past 4 years. Also to Joe Davis, Sandra Jenkins, Shirley Benjamin, Carrie Blackwell, Phyllis Smith and Amedysis Hospice Nurse Mary Ann Johnson Hayden and CNA Paula Rhodes Reed.
