Joan G. Martin, born on February 23, 1950, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026. 

Throughout her years, Joan remained connected to the values and traditions rooted in her place of birth, carrying forward the legacies of her family with humility and grace. She was a beloved daughter to Harold Greening and Louise Wise Greening, both of whom preceded her in death. Joan also bore the losses of her beloved husband, Dean, her children, Shannon Martin and Beth Lowman, with enduring courage and hope—a reflection of her spirit's resilience.

Joan’s greatest pride was her family, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She leaves behind her son, Harold Dennis Martin. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Kayla Danielle Grubbs (Donovan), Tyler Lewis Martin, Patrick Dean Martin, Donte Malik Lowman, and Nicholette Joan Lowman. Each grandchild brought immense joy to her life, and their memories with her will remain a source of comfort and inspiration.

Joan’s legacy is best reflected in the enduring love she gave to her family and the strength she demonstrated throughout her life. Her unwavering support, kindness, and open heart enriched the lives of all who knew her, and her memory lives on as a guiding force in their lives.
