John “Johnny” Arthur Irick

September 13, 1939 — August 26, 2024

John “Johnny” Arthur Irick, 84, of Orangeburg passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Johnny was born in Orangeburg, S.C. to the late Artis J. Irick and the late Annie Mae Boltin Irick. Johnny was a simple man who LOVED his Dumplin’, Regina, and his family. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, negotiating and most of all making a deal. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and enjoyed his time serving in Alaska. He was a member of the Edisto Shrine Club and the Progress Masonic Lodge #356. Many would describe him as a hardworking self-made man and an entrepreneur with many talents. Johnny was a 20+ year two-time cancer survivor. When asked of anything specific he would like in his obituary, he simply responded, “I have lived a long and wonderful life, done many things I never thought I would. I am thankful.”

Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Regina K. Irick; son, John “Art” A. Irick, Jr. (Donna); daughter, Nanci R.I. Fields (E. Roger); granddaughters, Emily M. Irick, Rachil L. Fields (Jamie); grandson, Alexander R. Fields; great-grandson, Kaydin I. Fields; sister-in-law, Jelanie Irick and a nephew, Jeff Irick.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, LaDonna Gay, his parents and his brother, Artis J. Irick.
