John D. Hutto

John D. Hutto,91, of 225 Lakeview Dr. Orangeburg, S.C. 29115 died Friday, April 24, 2015 at his residence after a brief illness.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 4:30 P.M. at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg with Rev. Ryan Tucker officiating.

Mr. Hutto was born on September 28, 1923 in Orangeburg, S.C. to the late Lemuel M. Hutto and the late Maybelle Stillinger Hutto. He served in the United States Army. He was a veteran of WWII. He was retired from U.S. Plywood-Champion Paper after 36 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Wendell Love Sunday School Class. He was also a former member of the Senior Choir, The Golden Singers. He was the widower of two wives; Doreather Zeigler Hutto and Sara Kittrell Ott Hutto. He was predeceased by four sisters, Mattie Lee Blocker, Katie Bell Hutto, Almeta Hutto Salley and Lillie Mae Hutto Bell and two brothers, Jessie Hutto and Baby Boy Hutto.

Survivors include two sons, Ronnie J. Hutto and Timothy J. Hutto (Trina) both of Orangeburg; one daughter Betty Hutto Dyar (Todd) of Orangeburg; one grandson, Timothy J. "T.J." Hutto, Jr. of Orangeburg; two step-daughters, Joyce Ott Wolfe (Jimmy) of Cope and Cindy Ott Catlett (Bennie) of Cope; three step-grandchildren, Chris Wolfe (Whitney) of Cope, Mary Beth Gartman of Orangeburg and Shelly Catlett Watts (Stephen) of Cope; two sisters, Ollie H. Smoak Nettles and Geneva H. Baldwin both of Cordova; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special "thank you" to his caregiver Mrs. Trina Gartman Hutto. We appreciate all that she did.

Friends may call the funeral home.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc.

The family will receive friends at the graveside after the service.
