John Michael Jeffcoat, 73 of Orangeburg died Monday May 11, 2014 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with Rev. Sandra Whetsell officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. The family will have private burial services. Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas S. Summers, Jr., Joey Robinson, Chan Holman, Harry Back, Frankie Dial, Ralph Hite, Jerry Frick, Jr., Jim Huffman, Walter Oliver. Glenn Shannon and Billy Shannon. He was born April 24, 1941 in Jacksonville, Florida; the son of the late Norman Craft Jeffcoat, Sr. and the late Essie Mae Dickey Jeffcoat. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, one of the founding partners of Brittingham, Dial and Jeffcoat CPA's of West Columbia, a member of the Beta Alpha Psi of the National Accounting Fraternity, a member of the SC Association of Certified Public Accountants, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a former member of the Edisto Cruisers. He was preceded in death by a son; John Michael Jeffcoat, Jr. and a brother; Norman Craft Jeffcoat, Jr. Survivors include his wife; Nancy Whetstone Jeffcoat; a daughter and son-in-law; Carol and Thomas S. Summers, Jr.; Grandchildren; Jerry Frick III and Elizabeth Craft Frick; Sister-in-law, Ann Blewer Jeffcoat; a niece; Susan and William Farr and a nephew; Michael David Jeffcoat. Friends may call at the funeral home. Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
