Johnny "Poota" Francis Logwood, Jr.

Johnny “Poota” Francis Logwood, Jr., 36, of Pinewood, S.C. passed away unexpectedly Monday July 15, 2024.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street Orangeburg.  Rev. Cindy Williams will be officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel prior to the service.

Johnny was born on May 6, 1988, in Orangeburg, S.C.  He was the son of John Francis Logwood Sr. and Neta Louise Myers Logwood-Bonaparte.  He was a former member of Harmon Pentecostal Holiness Church.  Johnny loved life, he loved dancing with his moma, swinging, running, playing with his musical babies, making music and singing with sounds instead of words, playing with his animals and watching PBS Cartoons and Cartoon movies.

Predeceased by his maternal grandparents Johnny Lever Myers, McKenley Myers and Gladys Irene Stanley Myers. His paternal grandparents Lee Eugene Logwood and Virginia Hartge Logwood, aunts Delores Ann Welch, Frances Louise Welch Anderson, Marilyn Irene Myers Syfrett Thompson and Uncles Doc Franklin Edwards Jr., Calvin George Welch and Johnny (Junior) Myers, Step grandparents George Alston Bonaparte Sr. and Doris Bush Bonaparte.

Survivors include his parents, a sister, Riley Megan Welch; aunts, Rose Lee Craven, Lena Mae (Sis)  Stack, Janice Hughes (Aunt Dani); uncles, Marion Edgar Logwood (Lisa), Louis Logwood (Lisa), Tommy Logwood, Lee Logwood, Sammy Frenny III ( Nauti Rock) step-father, George Alston Bonaparte Jr.; step-aunts, Shirley Bonaparte Smith (Raymond), China Bonaparte Gouge (Lee), Cynthia Bonaparte; step-uncle, Mark Anthony Bonaparte; honorary aunt, Betty Thomas Hendrix (Chucky) many cousins and additional family and friends.
