Mr. Joseph “Joe” A. Gramling, 86, of Orangeburg passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024, after an extended illness.
Mr. Gramling was born and raised in Orangeburg, S.C. to the late Albert W. Gramling and the late Lottie Ayers Gramling. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard. Joe was employed for over 31 years with Orangeburg Milling Company until his retirement in 2024. He was a faithful life-long member of White House Methodist Church where he was very active in the “Men’s Club.” He was also a forty-year life member of the Orangeburg Ancient Free Masonic Lodge #12. Joe had many hobbies, but he felt most at home when he was farming and raising livestock, especially goats. He was devoted to his family and loved being a “Granddaddy” and “Grandy Joe.” He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carolyn Wadford Gramling, his son, Joseph “Joe Allen” Gramling, Jr. and a brother, John “Kirby” Gramling.
Survivors include his daughter, Jodee Gramling Till (Stevie); grandchildren, Macon Till (Kayla), Hailey Till; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Till, Hudson Till; sister, Sue Magee and a number of nieces, nephews and additional family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at White House Methodist Church, 3517 Five Chop Road, Orangeburg. Rev. Mary Everett will be officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at White House Methodist Church prior to the service and at other times at the residence of Mr. Joe Gramling.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Clark Hunter, Artie Wadford, Mac Wadford, Phillip Griffin, Gene Lawson, and Chris O'Cain.
